As a biyahero, we need to take note when is the best time to book for airfare tickets. Most of the time, we travel on a holiday or on long weekends. But this year, some of the holidays fall on weekends.
For the knowledge of everyone here is the complete list of holidays for 2011 in the Philippines. This will help every biyahero on planning trips and booking airfare tickets months ahead.
The list below was based on Proclamation No. 84 signed by Pres. Noynoy Aquino.
Regular Holidays
- New Year’s Day – January 1 (Saturday)
- Araw ng Kagitingan – April 9 (Saturday)
- Maundy Thursday / Good Friday – April 21 / 22 (Thursday / Friday)
- Labor Day – May 1 (Sunday)
- Independence Day – June 12 (Sunday)
- National Heroes Day – August 29 (Monday)
- Christmas Day – December 25 (Sunday)
- Rizal Day – December 30 (Friday)
Special (non-working) holidays – 2011
- Ninoy Aquino Day – August 21 (Sunday)
- All Saints’ Day – November 1 (Tuesday)
- New Year’s Eve – December 31 (Saturday)
Others
- 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution anniversary - February 25 (Friday) – No classes only for schools
- Eid’l Fit’r (Last Day of Ramadan) and Eid’l Adha (Islam Feast of Sacrifice) – to be announced later, based on the Islamic calendar
